Job Description

The CNC Sinker EDM Machinist will be based in Tempe, AZ at Flex Tempe, formerly Tech Mold. The candidate will be responsible for setting up and running automated CNC sinker EDM machines in a very clean and organized environment. The candidate should have the following skill sets

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll need and do…

• Background in sinker EDM setup and operation to include extensive knowledge of the EDM process and electrode manufacturing


• Ability to trouble shoot burns and optimize the EDM process to minimize cycle times by adjusting on/off time, amperage, voltage, etc. while getting a repeatable process.


• Able to accurately measure and repeatedly burn parts to a .0002 tolerance


• Experienced with non-conventional set-ups and burn styles to include vectoring and different orbit patterns


• Ability to use shop inspection equipment to include micrometers, indicators, sine plates, etc.


• Basic working knowledge of trigonometry and how it relates to the EDM process, set-ups, and inspection


• Experience working in plastic injection mold making facility a plus


• Experience with Mitsubishi EA-12's, and Charmilles 350 sinker EDM’s a plus (we are very willing to train qualified operators on our machines)


• Experience with Zeiss Contura CMM's a plus


• Ability to work as a member of a team


• Strong written and verbal communication skills
