JOB SKILLS/DUTIES
Provide excellent customer service to residents and family members to enhance resident satisfaction and the overall dining experience.
Work cooperatively with other departments to serve resident dining needs.
Respond to resident and family questions and complaints in a friendly, problem solving manner.
Serve food and beverages in dining room in accordance with residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
Assist in scheduled cleaning duties
Clean dining room tables, chairs, and other equipment. Sweep, mop and vacuum floors.
Carry soiled utensils to wash area.
Wash and clean utensils as directed
Clean trash receptacles, carry out garbage and keep work area clean.
Set up meal trays, food carts and dining room as instructed.
Distribute and collect menus as needed.
Assist in checking diet tray before distribution
Deliver food car, trays, etc. to designated area(s)
Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures
Remove food trays from cars, dining room, etc. and take to dishwashing area
Prepare and deliver snacks, beverages, etc. as instructed
Effective time management—completing work within shift, clocking in and out on time, taking no more than allotted breaks (two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute break).
Able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, or emotionally upset.
Adaptability – can adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected results.
Safety and security – actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials properly.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS
High school diploma required. High School students working part time are exempt from this requirement.
Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Must meet general health requirements of the facility including routine TB tests, etc.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals
