Job Description:


Kforce has a client that is seeking a Machine Engineering Technician in Chandler, AZ. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager

The Machine Technician builds, installs, maintains, and repairs fixtures for testing of components, assemblies and/or products to meet customer's demand by following the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Essential Duties:

  • This position will be responsible for fabrication and assembly of custom test equipment for gas and electric products

  • Reviews diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications for installations to ensure accurate construction of test rigs

  • Operates and maintains hand, power and machining tools and selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task

  • Inspects fabricated parts using precise measuring devices for quality assurance and communicates defects to management for proper disposition

  • Performs wiring and assembly of all electrical components required for operation of the test rig

  • Verifies functionality of electrical systems using test and measurement equipment

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed


  • Understanding of safety standards and regulations

  • Experience with mills, lathes, blades, saws, grinders, etc.

  • Experience with building cables, harnessing and wiring is highly desired

  • Experience with mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, etc.

  • Experience with electrical assembly such as soldering, crimping, etc.

  • Knowledge of 3D modeling programs such as Solidworks, Solid Edge or NX/UG and ability to read and interpret models and drawings is preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate analytical reasoning and solution-focus problem solving

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to lift heavy objects

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Associates degree in machining technology or a related field

  • Experience using control systems such as LabVIEW or PLC
