The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, andevaluating educational programs for nursing services and assisting in human resources and staffing departments.

Details

As aStaff Development Coordinatoryour responsibilities would includebut are not limited to;


  • Ensure that employees receive compliance training and education necessary to perform their jobresponsibilities

  • Oversees the process for competency evaluation of new clinical staff

  • Plans, organizes, and implements ongoing education and training programs to promote the knowledge and skillsnecessary for the provision of quality care

  • Develops and maintains monthly and annual education calendars

  • Ensures educational opportunities are effectively communicated to facility personnel

  • Coordinates with the Staffing Director to ensure daily staffing ratios are maintained

  • Answer employee calls regarding scheduling issues and prepare written correspondence as necessary


  • Consult with nursing department supervisors concerning staffing and scheduling needs

  • Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars for employee performance appraisals, reporting to the Director of Nursing Services all issues

  • Work with Human Resources and Director of Nursing Services when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy

  • Answer applicant questions regarding position availability and participate in interview process

  • Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment

Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in asubacute careor long-term caresetting is preferred

  • The ideal candidate has positive skills in these areas; ability to work well with others, the ability to build relationships and to develop rapport with staff, a team builder, ability to communicate both positive and negative topics in a professional manner, ability to relay information to a variety of learners in ways that are meaningful to them, ability to manage multiple systems and priorities while meeting deadlines, flexibility in meeting the needs of the facility and a "can do" attitude, creative problem solving with strong follow-through

  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or LN in this state

  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
