Full-Time Opportunity to work in our school age program!  $300.00 sign on bonus!

Through the end of May, we’ll start you off with a $150 bonus just for joining our team, and add another $150 bonus after just 3 months with us.

The Schenectady YMCA is hiring! We will be offering a School Age Program at Jefferson Elementary School, starting this winter and we are excited to have you join our team! The Site Supervisor plans, manages, and supervises a developmentally appropriate childcare program at one small site (less than 30 youths). Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children and parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth at site and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall after school childcare experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS is preferred. School Age Child Care Credential OR AAS OR Two years of College with 18 credits in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or related field.


• Two years direct experience with children under age 13 required.


• One year of experience in a supervisory capacity required.


• Submission of NYS Medical Statement of Childcare Staff Form documenting physician clearance to work in a childcare setting as well as TB Test which meets Health and Social Service requirement.


• Maintain 30 hours of childcare related training every two years.


• Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens to be completed within 30 days of hire.


• Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of computers.


• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE TIMES:

• Monday through Friday 7am – 10am and 1pm-6pm
