The IT Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping and receiving incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties;

  • Use computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting;

  • Follow shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements;

  • Receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment;

  • Assist with IT when un-boxing new computers and re-boxing computers after imaging is completed;

  • Accurately assemble computer kits for shipping;

  • Maintain and print labels;

  • Keep accurate records of shipments in inventory system;

  • Receive shipment when computers arrive both from termed employees and delivery of new equipment

  • Work with HR to recover kits from terminated employees

  • Assist and maintain accurate counts of peripheral devices like mice, headsets, etc.

  • Load, unload, and convey materials within or near work site, and perform a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving;

  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets; load or unload materials into or from trucks by hand;

  • Convey materials using escalator, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, or other devices; stack or assemble materials.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma AND

  • Previous warehouse experience OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience


Certificates and Licenses: None required.


Other Required Qualifications:



  • Previous shipping and receiving is highly preferred.

  • Basic skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of employees and vendors

  • Effective skill in following instructions, policies, procedures, and safety regulations

  • Able to lift 50 plus pounds

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.

  • Ability to travel X% of the time

  • Ability to clear required background check

  • This is an office-based position. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
