POSITION TITLE

Position Summary:



The candidate will provide Software Development support to NSWC Crane in the Crane, Indiana area. Support includes but not limited to Java, HTML5, .NET, and JavaScript development.



Contract Specifications:


  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Must be IAT Level II or IAT Level III compliant (Security+, CISSP, etc.)

  • Some positions may require an industry Linux, Windows, Networking, and/or Cloud certification such as Cloud+ or AWS certification






Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Utilize the Agile Software Development methodology

  • Perform user interface Programming using HTML5/Microsoft.NET Programming/ JavaScript/jQuery in the development; web parts/user controls, web forms with data validation, business data connectivity and complex workflows.

  • Perform Programming in the development of middleware programming utilizing: table schemas with primary and foreign key constraints, data views, stored procedures, user-defined function and triggers. Programming languages to include, but not limited to, SharePoint Framework, client side web-based technologies (including JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, jQuery, Microsoft.NET).

  • Enhance the look and feel of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) by designing, developing and maintaining: master pages, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and graphics.

  • Utilize the MS Power Apps framework and programming language to create NSWC Crane Enterprise business tools and applications

  • Perform Transact-SQL programming in the development of Database Programming by utilizing: table schemas with primary and foreign key constraints, data views, stored procedures, user-defined functions and triggers.

  • Utilize SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to design and develop inbound ETL data loads (sources to staging) for the normalization data loads (staging to normalize).

  • Model Tabular data for Analysis Services in the development of visualizations of the Business Analytics of NSWC Crane Enterprise Software System Database(s).

  • Review existing applications (including current applications developed in MS Access) for incorporation into NSWC Crane Enterprise Software Systems and provide recommendations for the best method of integration into NSWC Crane Enterprise Software Systems environment (including MS SQL back-ends and web-based front-end environments).




Required Education, Skills, and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Engineering discipline required.


  • Five (5) years of analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality; designing and developing user interfaces in Microsoft SharePoint; determining design methodologies; completing programing using visual studio; designing and conducting testing.

  • Has demonstrated understanding of developing SharePoint components including web parts, pages and services; User controls; windows services and workflows using Visual Studio .NET.

  • Proficient in SharePoint development using at least one (1) of the following: Windows; Visual Studio.NET; C#; and Java.

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in the development and migration of IT Systems to a Cloud environment.

  • Demonstrated experience performing Information Assurance (IA) security procedures and adherence to the Application Development STIGs.

  • Experienced working with database versioning software such as Subversion, Git or similar software. Demonstrated experience in a software testing environment.


Prefered Education, Skills, and Experience:


  • Seven (7) years of analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality; designing and developing user interfaces in Microsoft SharePoint; determining design methodologies; completing programing using visual studio; designing and conducting testing.

  • Proficient in SharePoint development using at least two (2) of the following: Windows; Visual Studio.NET; C#; and Java.

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in the development and migration of IT Systems to a Cloud environment.


Experienced working with database versioning software such as RedGate, Liquibase or similar software. Demonstrated experience in a software testing environment.





Physical Demands and Expectations:


  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 15 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting

  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance

  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
