We approach problems with creativity and innovation.  Schnabel Engineering in Longmont, CO is seeking a Staff or Senior Staff Engineer to support our growing business.  We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of and help support a strong team.

 Job Responsibilities:


  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies; structural analysis and design; geotechnical investigations and analyses

  • Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings and technical specifications for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal procedures and guidelines

  • Modeling of project components or structures for visualization of complex features

  • Draft technical reports

  • Ability to prepare data-driven graphics for engineering reports, professional papers and presentations

  • Perform construction observation and materials testing

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

  • EIT/EI and working toward PE license

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • 0-7 years of experience in dams, spillways, pipelines, drainage, and hydraulic structures

  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work

  • Strong interest and background in AutoCAD, data visualization, and 3D modeling

  • Willing to travel

Other Requirements:


  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
