The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and implementing processes required for the Advanced Development Engineering Center, as well as leadership or participation in process improvement teams. This position takes ownership for the effective and timely application of lean tools and principles through the exercise of project management skills. Evaluates current business performance and identifies gaps in critical areas which limit efficient operations. Establishes and implements improvement plans and monitors progress to ensure updates achieve desired results and are implemented in a timely manner. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

How you will do it


  • Drive the improvement of processes and systems for the company and implement programs that will have continuing long-term benefits.

  • Develop plans and schedules for projects to improve existing processes.

  • Coordinate and lead key projects for improvement across all levels of the organization. Lead teams directly or collaborate with team members to re-engineer processes.

  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working.

  • Establish measurable standards at the start of a project and then compare actual project results against these, regularly generating detailed update reports for management.

  • Monitor existing processes to make sure they continue to perform at optimal levels of efficiency.

  • Serve as coach to coordinate workshops and team trainings, openly sharing their guidance and technical expertise and ensuring that learning resources are widely available.

  • Drive overall metric improvements to support First Pass Yield, Efficiency/Productivity, and Utilization for the Test Lab through the following:

    • Establish baselines from data that has been collected with TTI.

    • Determine tools that the teams want to use to show improvement activity on a monthly basis with a central location for all team members to capture the improvement activities. 

    • Establish cross functional teams for each area to drive improvement through root cause analysis. 



  • Implement SOP's across the Test Lab.

  • Facilitate all capital planning & execution.

  • Prepares detailed plans, drives project performance and assures timely completion of product / process improvement, using standard tracking and reporting systems.

  • Work with teams on the shop floor to complete waste walks and improvement actions.

What we look for

Required:


  • Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of proven continuous improvement experience from a similar role to include the application of lean principles, statistical tools and methods, process improvement and KPI tracking.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. 

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.

  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.

  • Ability to exercise influence without authority.

  • Ability to think strategically, envision future states and create change.

  • Must be well organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities.

  • Ability to be proactive, follow up and follow through around regular activities along with future projects.

  • Ability to use good judgement and build rapport with diverse internal and external clientele.

Preferred:


  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable. 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in a union workforce environment.

  • Familiarity and ability to use Tableau software.
