Summary of Job Duties:

The Post-Doctoral Associate will plan, conduct and publish basic and applied research using chemical, nutritional and management techniques to induce intestinal inflammation and determine various mechanism of action, optimize and develop intestinal health biomarkers and microbiome analysis in poultry species. The selected candidate is expected develop and use various molecular techniques, like qPCR, and western bot, immunological techniques, like ELISA and immunohistochemistry and microbiological techniques, such as selective media differentiation and next generation sequencing, to determine biomarkers of intestinal health and the response of the host and microbial community to antibiotic free poultry production. The candidate will also be expected to oversee and manage projects and students pertaining to intestinal health and inflammation and develop therapeutics to attenuate the effect of stress and optimize intestinal function. The associate will work in collaboration with researchers at the University of Arkansas, Texas A&M University, Ohio State University and private industry as required

Qualifications:

Required DVM and Ph.D. Poultry Science - Physiology and Health or similar with demonstrated familiarity with poultry. Experience with poultry rearing and proper management is essential.

Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience.
