Job Description

The Program Management Technical Assistant (PMTA) reports to the Director of Program Management and provides a variety of support to the Program Management Team. The PMTA facilitates the planning and coordinating of activities to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program management team are accomplished within the prescribed time frames, funding parameters, and to the highest level of quality. The PMTA may be assigned as Deputy Program Manager for various programs under the

direction of the primary program manager.

  • Ability to learn and use Formal project management process and tools (project justification and approval, ROI/IRR, charter, SOW, risk assessment, WBS, schedule, budget, variance reporting & corrective action, team meetings, closeout) to lead and manage programs and projects;

  • Ability to problem solve using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Organized in approach to work. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form;

  • Proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and other software programs is needed

  • Ability to understand and assist program managers with preparing proposals, cost estimates and with contract negotiation; Must be Proactive and respond promptly to customer needs both internal and external. Ability to Maintain confidentiality. Excellent listening skills required; Responds well to questions. Has excellent phone skills. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.

  • Manages, plans, organizes and coordinates matrix organizational functions to achieve customer and company requirements and goals for assigned programs and projects (Manages Risk and Opportunity program, Coordinates Customer Visits, Conducts meetings on behalf of Program Manager, Manages schedules and deliverables for Program Management Team, etc...)

  • Interact with Customers to understand their needs and requirements, grow customer relationships, build company integrity, and continuously improve customer satisfaction

  • Use formal project management process and tools (see skills below) to lead and manage projects and programs.

What You Need To Bring To The Table:


  • Engineering or Business related associates degree, OR unrelated Bachelor degree with two plus years of Project Management experience

  • Government Secret Clearance may be required.

  • Valid driver's license required
