The Marketing Communications Associate Manager is ultimately accountable for development and execution of brand-level messaging and marketing campaigns for specified product brand(s). This includes project management of internal and external resources to ensure successful execution of defined communications strategies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing the business a wholesome communications strategy that includes tactics, channels and budget for all appropriate audiences. This includes consulting and partnering with team members from the larger Communications Organization as needed.

• Responsible for ensuring all marketing materials for assigned product(s) are finalized in accordance with the overriding communication strategy. This includes writing and editing content, guiding creative design, and resolving conflicting inputs during the review/approval process.

• Develops product promotional narrative, messaging and key supportive proof points for appropriate audiences (HCPs, Patient, Investors and Hospitals/ASCs).

• Evaluates effectiveness of marketing activities and offers input related to future opportunities.

• Leads brand-level communication strategy development and execution, including marketing message development, in collaboration with Product and Commercial Managers, Engineers, and Surgeons, where appropriate.

• Determines marketing tactics to pursue in support of the communication strategy and develops marketing and advertising campaigns, where necessary.

• Leads creative briefing sessions with Product Managers, Marketing staff and external agencies

• Ensures all projects completed for assigned brand/segment(s) stay on time and within budget.

• Serves as Marketing Communications lead throughout New Product Introduction (NPI) process for assigned products.

• Supports direct to consumer (DTC) strategies by participating in market research, campaign material development, execution, monitoring and reporting.

• May act as central contact for cross-functional organization of marketing materials, literature catalogs, meeting planning, tradeshows, and support among assigned product segment(s).

• Develops and maintains product knowledge for assigned product brands in order to communicate product details effectively for external audiences.

Expected Areas of Competence

• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form with a clear and concise manner.

• Excellent organization skills and the ability to deal independently with many issues at one time and prioritize accordingly.

• Ability to develop creative, effective and compliant promotional and media strategies in a high regulated environment

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional/multi-disciplined teams including but not limited to: Product Management, Commercialization, Medical Education, Sales Administration and Sales force representatives.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, & other PC based systems, as well as common web browsers. •

General knowledge of medical device business including the science, products (Zimmer Biomet and competitors), research and commercialization process, manufacturing, marketing, and sales.

• Knowledge of content management and social media

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or other related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, corporate communications, or medical device product management.

Travel Requirements

up to 20%
