Perform set-up and operation on armor, cabling, taping, and other associated equipment. Responsible for production and quality.

1. Make complete set-ups on jobs from charts, blueprints, and specification.

2. Operate line, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc., to insure a quality product and required production rates.

3. Perform required inspections of product visually and using micrometers, calipers, or other necessary measuring instruments. Record product and process parameters.

4. Perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance and assist others when major repairs are required.

5. Complete all necessary records and reports as required. Prepare and attach material I.D. tags to pallets or reels as required, giving particular attention to proper part numbers, job numbers and quantity per pallet or reel.

6. Load required materials into machines using powered lift equipment when necessary. Obtain and place heavy material using air gun to attach along with thread heavy material from reels through fixture and binder head. Cut heavy material after it is threaded. Must be able to maneuver approximately 700-900 lbs reel of flat strip stock.

7. Keep taping, armor,cabling lines including surrounding areas clean and orderly.

8. Perform other work of an equal or lower classification as required.

Qualifications
Operators must possess a high mechanical aptitude as well as the physical strength to handle material loading, tool, and reel changes for product that weighs up to 900 lbs. on a regular basis. Lifting requirements - up to 50 lbs.
