Summary of Job Duties:

The Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator (Ag&NRE) provides educational programs that inform and educate the public on the benefits of rice production specifically and other row crops predominant in the Arkansas Delta.

The Ag&NRE position will develop educational materials and programmatic content for youth and adult audiences that highlight rice production, as well as other predominant row crops grown in the Arkansas Delta.

The successful candidate will establish the Agriculture and Natural Resources Education Center (Ag&NREC) located at the Northeast Rice Research and Extension Center (NERREC) in Harrisburg AR.

While Ag&NREC will be housed at the NERREC, the position will develop content for all of the Division's assets in Arkansas with an emphasis on the Arkansas Delta. The Ag&NRE position will be the point person for public contact for the Ag&NREC.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Agriculture, Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy or closely related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in agriculture, youth and adult education; social media; conducting and evaluating Extension programs; planning meetings; developing and writing publications; and farm business is preferred. Excellent multi-media, oral and written communication skills.
