JOB DESCRIPTION:

Alphia, one of the nation’s leading custom pet food manufacturing companies, is growing its IT team. The Devops Technician is responsible for providing technical expertise supporting the pet food manufacturing processes through all phases of project deployment and execution.  The primary focus of this position will be to maintain and support the day to day use of all projects, including completing help desk tickets, fixing program bugs, testing new features, as well as deployment and version control.  Longer term this position will be responsible for the development, implementation and support on process control automation projects including human-machine-interface (HMI) development, and ERP system customization. This is a great opportunity for someone to work on a wide range of projects throughout the entire corporation. This position is based in Ogden, UT just 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City and in the heart of snow skiing, hiking and other outdoor recreational activity.  

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Handle code deployments in all environments.


• Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.


• Needs to have great communication skills for interaction with all departments.


• SQL data base management.


• Assist in report development through SSRS.


• Assist the engineering department in automation projects - HMI programming and process control.


• Develops and implements new VB.net, C#, and ASP.Net projects.


• Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS - Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field.

• Experience in the following




• VB.net and C# programming and development


• SQL database


• ASP.NET


• Power BI


• SSRS


• Subversion


• Have desire and be prepared to grow quickly in very dynamic environment.


• Able to convert initial concepts and desired outcomes into final product in timely and efficient manner.


• Desire to expand skills into process control automation.


• Available to travel 5% - 15% to plants.


• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.


• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.


• Team player

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Will need to support a schedule-driven 24 hour / 7 days a week environment with a strong customer service orientation.
