This role will be based in our Charlton, MA when COVID completes, however we will consider remote work options for well qualified candidates.The role will have travel within the United States, after COVID as well.



Job Purpose and Core Tasks


The Global Learning Development Specialists actively supports international and local learning experts like trainers, HR Business partners etc. in developing inspiring and sustainable learning events and material. Additionally, he/she is part of the global LMS-Team (Learning Management System) to maintain the operational functionalities and acts as regional first line user support for LMS admins and users. The regional competence will be defined in detail within the Team Global Learning & Development.



Responsibilities:




  • Collaborates with trainers and other stakeholders for creating (digital) learning content (methods, formats, tools, etc.) and content loading; maintains training and user profile records; coordinates calendaring and enrollment, tracking, assessments, reporting and customer communications for learning events.

  • Supports the constant evaluation of global and local training needs and opportunities for the expansion of personnel development within Karl Storz.

  • Manages community areas within Karl Storz Learning Community

  • Manages business processes, daily operation, use, and configuration of the LMS.

  • Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.

  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems.

  • Maintains procedures and policies to ensure the security and integrity of systems/networks.

  • Writes and maintains functional and technical procedures and policy documentation.

  • Creates and updates resources to train and support the use of appropriate learning technology, as subject matter expert for learning the use and development of the LMS the evaluation and reporting of learning & development at Karl Storz.



User Management LMS:



  • Manages user accounts as needed and assigns user permissions.

  • Supervises that users are permitted to access the LMS per guidelines and manages account approval and denial process.

  • Manages user roles, user certificates and other learning objects.



Course Management:




  • Supports global learning experts in creation and management of courses.

  • Manages external learning content (content curation, evaluation). Consults with stakeholders in use and selection of appropriate external learning content

  • Develops and updates standardized tools and reporting for ongoing access to learning information; generates standard and custom reports.

  • Supports and manages the overall course structure and sets up course programs based on specifications from the instructional designer.

  • Supports tracking of course revisions and history.




Troubleshooting, Reporting & System Administration:




  • Provides first line troubleshooting assistance for admins and leaners.

  • Reviews and monitors system performance in close collaboration with IT.

  • Works with the instructional technologist and instructional designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to access and content.

  • Collaborates with IT for administration of the system, which includes software updates, releases and interfaces.

  • Assists with data migrations, testing and working with IT and outside vendors to troubleshoot systems issues; supports development of processes.

  • Provides standard and ad-hoc reporting and analysis of LMS utilization



Required




  • Minimum 5-7 years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an LMS administrator

  • Bachelor's degree



Preferred



  • Preferred experience with SuccessFactors and SuccessFactors Learning
