Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Structural Engineering Intern of junior standing or higher enrolled in a Civil or Structural Engineering program to work on a range of engineering and design projects. The successful candidate will work with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers on designs for USACE and other clients. You will be assisting Project Engineers and Project Managers with a variety of design, engineering and drafting tasks. This role will provide a strong foundation for translating design into construction documents for water resource and navigation projects such as lock and dams; hydraulic structures such as gates and valves, and bridges.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications, and opinions of cost
• Assist in the preparation technical reports in support of projects
• Process shop drawings and submittals
• Prepare supporting documents under the direction of the Project Manager
• Read and edit technical documents
• Perform quantity take-offs
• Call vendors for product information including cost and lead time
• Prepare structural design calculations, utilize structural design software

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation a plus but not required
• Facility with structural modelling software
• Entering Junior or Senior year in a University degree program for Civil/Structural Engineering
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Sound time management skills
• Self-Motivated
• Valid driver's license
