Job Responsibilities

This position is part of Lam's Manufacturing Engineering group. The Manufacturing Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the production factory working across organization functions to resolve technical, quality, and production challenges. Makes the opportunity available to develop excellence in product design and manufacturing.

The Manufacturing Engineer oversees the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products. Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Duties:


  • Provide technical support of the production floor
  • Work with Lam Product Group Engineering in correcting design errors and driving Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Drive the improvement of the manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time-delivery
  • Identify, implement, and monitor system-level improvements
  • Continuously work on process improvements and developing Best Known Methods (BKMs)
  • Drive RCCA analysis on manufacturing escalations
  • Identify opportunities for manufacturing quality and safety improvements, and drive improvement projects to completion

Minimum Qualifications:


  • BS degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering; may consider other technical disciplines
  • Five+ years' experience supporting industrial, engineering, or quality manufacturing
  • Familiarity with MS Suite and using an ERP
  • Must be willing and able to initially work ½ time onsite and ½ time remote, then post-COVID full time onsite.

Additional skills and abilities beneficial for this role include creative thinking, and strong problem solving and troubleshooting ideally in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering; solid understanding of electrical systems, manufacturing processes, quality systems, statistical process control, basic statistical analysis used in a production setting, and equipment and component manufacturing processes; ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance; effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills; and strong attention to detail.
