Job Description:

Arcadis seeks an ITS/Traffic Signal Technician with a wide variety of experience to join the team in Nashville, TN. In this role you will assist our growing traffic engineering group in Nashville. If desired, you will have the opportunity to support other Arcadis team members on projects across the Southeast.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Integration and maintenance of ITS and Traffic Signal Systems including CCTV systems, changeable message signs, travel time readers, vehicle detection systems, BlueTooth travel time readers and DSRC Roadside Units (RSU).
  • Installation and maintenance of communications systems including fiber optic systems and wireless systems.
  • Developing, testing and implementation Traffic Signal operation and timing plans.
  • Develop work plans and assign tasks to junior level technicians.
  • Trouble-shoot traffic signal operations and prepare action plans to implement remedies for associated problems with equipment component failures.

Key Attributes

  • Customer service experience.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Willing to relocate to Nashville TN and travel to assignments throughout the Southeast United States as needed.

  • 8 or more years' experience in the specialist/technical area,
  • Technical experience with Traffic Signals, CCTVs, Ethernet Switches, Travel Time Readers, and wireless technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or another relevant field
  • IMSA Level 2 Preferred
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience with NEMA TS-1 and NEMA TS2 Type1 Signal Cabinets
  • Familiarity with Econolite Cobalt controllers and Centracs
