Job Description:

Maintenance Worker I & Maintenance Worker I (Limited Term) – Sewer District

The South Placer Municipal Utility is currently accepting applications for two positions:

Maintenance Worker I

Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and operation of a wastewater collection system including sewer mains, laterals, manholes, and lift stations; operates light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment.

Monthly Salary:  $4494-$5463.  Placement level dependent on qualifications. 

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Valid CA Driver license and within 6 months of hire an appropriate Class B CA Driver License;
3. Within 12 months of hire obtain Grade 1 certification in Wastewater Collection System Maintenance from California Water Environment Association (CWEA);
4. Receive certificate for completion of Volume 1 “Operation of Wastewater Collections Systems” published by the Office of Water Programs, CSUS within 6 months of hire and Volume 2 within 12 months of hire;
5. Must reside within 30 miles of the District's corporation yard and be able to respond and travel there within 30 minutes;
6. Must be available to perform On-Call duty on a rotational basis.

Maintenance Worker I (Limited Term)

Monthly Salary: Maintenance Worker I $4494-$5463.  Placement level dependent on qualifications.  Maintenance Worker I (Limited Term) is a six-month Non-Benefitted position. 

Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and operation of a wastewater collection system including sewer mains, laterals, manholes, and lift stations; operates light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Valid CA Driver license;
3. Must reside within 30 miles of the District's corporation yard and be able to respond and travel there within 30 minutes;
4. Must be available to perform On-Call duty on a rotational basis.
