The City is accepting applications for position of Police Communications Specialist.
JOB SUMMARY Operates city emergency communications system consisting of telephone, radio, teletype and other related equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma
Eighteen years of age
Type a minimum of 40 wpm
Knowledge of computers and office machines
Emergency Communications Experience Preferred
Salary Range: $45,078 to $60,409 annually

Sick Leave
Non 24/48 shift employees earn 120 hours sick leave days per year. 24/48 shift employees earn 160 hours sick leave per year. Sick leave will not be available until after the first 90 days of employment.

Non-Civil Service employees (40 hour week): 1 - 5 years – 80 hours per year * 5+ years - 120 hours per year

*Sworn police personnel will earn 3 weeks vacation following the first year of service.

The City is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System. The City matches an employee’s contribution of 7% at a rate of 2-1. The City’s plan also includes:

Retirement at any age with 20 years of service or 5 years of service at age 60

Deferred Compensation
The City offers a deferred compensation plan to employees on a voluntary basis. The plan authorizes a portion of the salary to be withheld and invested for payment upon retirement or following leave of employment. Contributions are tax deferred until distribution.

Dependent health insurance premiums can be deducted from an employee’s pre-tax income. Employees may also participate in a flexible spending account by setting aside pre-tax income to pay for unreimbursed health expenses and dependent child care.
