Job Summary


Our Cutter Technicians plan, lay-out and operate Lectra or Gerber Fabric cutting machines to meet scheduled production requirements. Under minimal direct supervision, follow general instructions, sketches, specifications, work orders, process and equipment work instructions. Use recognized methods to perform a variety of standard, generally repetitive, manufacturing activities involved in the cutting, organizing and kitting of cut material. The Cutting Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and bring to supervisors' attention matters in a timely manner beyond operator control.


Job Responsibilities


* Follow standard and non-standard operating procedures to cut and stack composite fabric;

* Record all fabrication or machine operating parameters accurately and legibly on parts where required, routing sheets, resident operation sheets, department documentation or terminals to ensure recording completion of work-in-process, inventories, schedules, labor expenditures, and/or other documentation where required;

* Ability to understand/operate and locate cutting files on the company network.

* Capable of providing assistance to process problems, documenting issues effectively, and following up on open issues;

* Use simple inspection devices such as protractors, calipers, micrometers, tapes, gages, etc. to ensure the quality of operation processes performed. Will be required to inspect and certify own work to establish standards.

* Organize work areas, plan tasks with the team, perform assigned work, and meet or exceed the cost, quality, and schedule needs. Assure product quality;

* Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with all internal, safety, environmental, customer, and government regulations;

* Occasionally provide guidance to others who might need cross-training as a Cutter where necessary;


Job Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

* U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements

* High School Diploma or G.E.D

* 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required;

* UI (User Interface) 1+ years' experience required;

* Ability to run a machine at standard hours

* Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment

* General computer knowledge required;

* Must be able to manage change and solve problems;

* Perform basic shop mathematics;

* Ability to lift up to 35 lbs;

* Ability to operate available hoists and cranes to lift anything above 35 lbs

Additional Qualifications:

* Work well with others and be able to organize and contribute to a team;

* Perform work to a defined plan, be capable of defining plans, and organizing work area/tasks and people to meet that plan;

* Be cross-trained on several processes and demonstrate the ability to take on and manage additional responsibility;

* Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail is important;

* Must be able to accurately measure material per instructions;

* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;

* Read, comprehend, and write written instructions;
