Overview

Support our client, USTRANSCOM at Scott AFB provide subject matter expertise on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), US WPS Strategy and Legislation, and DoD WPS implementation guidance. Understand and implement WPS and Gender Advising guidance policy and activities. Alsoprovide security cooperation support for the planning, coordination, facilitation, and execution of logistics forums and workshops provide support for international military logistics counterpart visits and foreign national distinguished visitors.

Responsibilities

Support, inform, and provide timely advice to the USTRANSCOM Command Group and Staff. Coordinate and collaborate with the Joint Staff, OSD, Service Components, and the USG interagency on WPS / Gender Advising (GENAD) guidance, policy and activities.
• Apply political-military expertise to understand country and regional context and environment relevant to the implementation of WPS, with a USTRANSCOM perspective, into Campaign and Exercise Plans, as applicable.


• Conduct applicable gender studies, analyses, evaluations, military utility assessments, and capabilities-based assessments in support of USTRANSCOM and subordinate command missions.


• Provide expert assistance to create and implement security cooperation activities that encourage and enable international partners to work with the USTRANSCOM to achieve strategic distribution objectives.


• Attend conferences and planning events as requested by the Government to facilitate the development and implementation of SC activities.


• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing six to twelve (6-12) visits annually with partner nations' military personnel to USTRANSCOM; and shall assist in planning, coordinating, and executing one to three forums annually to include USTRANSCOM's Turbo Transition Global Logistics Forum and Workshop with the joint community, military services, partner nations, industry, interagency, and international organizations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Master's degree in international relations or strategic studies preferred, Bachelors required.


• At least five years of experience in international relations with a comprehensive understanding of the current geopolitical environment;


• Thorough understanding of the U.S. Government (USG) laws and policies regarding Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and UNSCR 1325, Security Assistance (SA) and Security Cooperation (SC) programs.


• Understanding of military operations, exercises, training, and engagements and how they may relate to WPS, and Gender Advising guidance, policy, and activities.


• Thorough understanding of USTRANSCOM mission and objectives.

Secret Clearance required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
