Base Salary Range:$140,288 - $171,463

Director, Digital Platform Technologies & Innovation

About the Role:

Responsible for developing, maturing and overseeing the implementation of technology platforms, software design patterns, reference architectures and development processes related to BOKF's digital ecosystem. Partners closely with Enterprise Architecture and other technology leaders to ensure all technologies, patterns, standards, and processes are effective and appropriately aligned with BOKF's broader technology frameworks and objectives. The leader remains fully engaged and aligned to all facets of the IT operating model; developing standards and maturity roadmaps, ensuring project compliance, ensures technical quality of all software developed by BOKF, ensures all platforms adhere to best practices and are built for change, and builds feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Duties:


  • Lead the evolution of Solutions Architecture, Software Design, and DevOps practices; ensuring the delivery of highly resilient, scalable, built for change platforms, enabling aligned agile teams to rapidly deploy new features.

  • Mentor, encourage, foster, and support intelligent innovation and risk taking to improve the agility, quality, resiliency, scalability, and business value of BOKF's digital platforms.

  • Supervise and participate in research and development activities. Materially contribute to the evolution of build versus buy decision frameworks. Cultivate productive, collaborative relationships with other members of the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams across the organization.

  • Ensure standards, patterns, architectures, and development processes are effectively leveraged during project execution across all digital roadmaps. Perform solutions architecture and system design activities on high-value initiatives solving complex technical issues and ensure effective engagement and collaboration among Enterprise Architecture and Software Development.

  • Key contributor to BOKF's culture of continuous improvement. Create feedback loops and leverage tools to observe the effectiveness of standards; proactively leading remediation activities. Identify skill, training, tool, and process gaps and recommend effective remediation with well vetted proposals. Collaborate with both senior and team-level leadership to address identified issues. Demonstrate measurable, year-over-year, continuous improvement in all areas of oversight. Active participant, thought leader, and contributing member to BOKF governing bodies including Technology Governance Council and Cloud Governance Committee. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory policies, and oversee the remediation of any regulatory and or audit findings within their span of control.

  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and retain the very best technical talent via the communication of transformative technical objectives through the lens of business value. Provide real-time coaching and feedback on adherence to relevant standards, patterns and architectures. Act as role model to promote BOKF cultural values including diversity and inclusion. Ensure development and succession plans are in place and up to date for self and direct reports.

  • Ensure BOKF developed platforms maintain high code quality levels with continual implementation readiness, demonstrably preventing negative impacts to customers and employees, service level objective (SLO) misses, and implementation delays. Seek out opportunities to drive measurable year-over-year savings and/or efficiencies

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of Master's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems and 10 years of directly related experience in solutions architecture and/or software development with at least 5 years of management experience overseeing one or more teams of technical professionals or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:


  • Deep understanding of the evolving digital world on both the demand side and the supply side

  • Well versed in relevant best practices, technologies, and design patterns including DevOps, microservices, service oriented architecture and model view controller

  • In-depth knowledge of cyber-security best practices related to the above

  • Strong business acumen, including domain-specific knowledge of the company and its business units

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively drive people, process and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment

  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service oriented architecture (SOA), application programming interfaces (APIs), open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics

  • Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills

  • Strong leadership, influence, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of business engineering principles and processes

  • Familiarity with basic graphical modeling approaches, design systems, tools and model repositories
