The Project HSE Specialist will provide safety and environmental leadership along with technical support to management and employees during construction activities of varied scopes. The position will report to the Project HSE Supervisor and will support the team by conducting daily field surveillance, documenting identified hazards, completing site audits, participating in group HSE discussions such as toolbox and safety meetings, and otherwise will be engaged in the support necessary to promote a safe and compliant workplace. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge of oil & gas related safety practices and applicable regulatory Safety, Environmental, and Industrial Hygiene standards.
Job Details
This position will support construction activities being conducted at Alaska's western North Slope, Alpine Facility. It will be a non-rotational position with a duration of approximately 5 weeks with remote camp accommodations. Onboarding is estimated to start May 5th and the project completion is estimated in early June 2021.
Essential Job Functions
Project HSE Plan
Will review and become a subject matter expert on the project specific HSE plan and associated plan documents.
Site Surveillance
The Project HSE Specialist will be required to visit crews and work locations each day to provide HSE support and ensure the project HSE plan, regulatory, company, and client requirements are being adhered to.
Complete atmospheric monitoring as needed.
Document Identified Hazards and encourage craft participation in the Worley Hazard Identification (SOR) program.
Site Audits/Assessments
Will be required to conduct various audits and assist in selecting applicable site assessments through collected Hazard Identification data.
Provide support and assistance in closing gaps found during Audits/Assessments.
Training/Meetings
Conduct in person and/or virtual training sessions as needed.
Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings
Assist in the development and execution of weekly safety meetings
Incident Response
Will assist the Project HSE Supervisor in all aspects of incident response to include initial notifications through investigation and report close out.
COVID-19
Will assist the Project HSE Supervisor in managing COVID-19 events per the project specific COVID-19 plan.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the United Statesrequired
High school diploma or equivalentrequired
Three (3) years of construction or oil & gas HSE experiencerequired
One (1) year experience working Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, & Outlook, Power Point, Access)required
Valid driver's license including ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurerrequired.
Arctic experiencepreferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)preferred
Bachelor's degree or similar in HSE or environmental science related disciplinepreferred.
