POSITION SUMMARY

Within the Global Supply Chain organization, the Sr. Supply Specialist role is primarily responsible for providing the leadership and direction for the Global Travel and Entertainment Category. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Hess Travel Program, category Strategy development, sourcing, contracting, and strategic supplier relationship management for the travel and entertainment category.

This successful candidate willbe a strong contributor with the ability to deliver strategic objectives and excise a high degree of influence on the Hess business partner agenda. Advanced knowledge of the key elements of a travel program, oil & gas industry and category management is highly desired as this role is expected to monitor the Travel market, trends, safety requirements and apply analytical, technical and industry knowledge to the Travel category.

This role has exposure to key stakeholders including Senior Leadership. For the right candidate, who is motivated, professional and intellectually curious, this affords development and growth in the Global Supply Chain team and the greater Hess organization.

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Drive the strategic direction for Hess' Global Travel Category and Program

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans for assigned categories including but not limited to; commercial air travel, hotels, ground transportation, meeting/room block venues, travel management company, corporate card and other travel/expense technology

  • Effectively source, negotiate, manage contracts and suppliers for assigned categories

  • Identify and execute cost savings/avoidance strategies; promote savings opportunities and report savings achievements

  • Provide Hess with updated category market intelligence, particularly as it relates to travel, and identify potential industry changes so that Hess can proactively respond

  • Implement innovative solutions for continuous improvement aligned to company culture as the travel industry evolves

  • Review, update and maintain the Global Travel Policy & Standard regularly

  • Perform Management of Change (MOC) and manage projects affiliated with the Global Travel Program

  • Monitor Travel Management Company performance ensuring operational excellence and exemplary delivery to contract, track SLA and KPI metrics

  • Manage the Global Travel Program operationally

  • Manage the strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

  • Support the Gulf of Mexico Incident Support Team during emergency response scenarios

  • Respond quickly to world-wide emergencies with potential impact to Hess Travelers and provide support

  • Utilize Hess' internal tools to communicate pertinent information about the travel program including maintaining the Global Travel Communications Portal

  • Act as an ambassador for the Global Supply Chain function, supporting and communicating change, initiatives & strategies accordingly

Qualifications

Experience


  • Minimum 6-8 years' experience with global travel program management and/or equivalent category management experience

  • Experience in travel procurement, sourcing, operations, as well as continuous process and user experience improvements

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • Professional, organized and detail oriented

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to analyze data summarizing findings in presentation form and make sound recommendations

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
