GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Officer, Donor Relations (Recognition) at Brigham and Women's Hospital will assist in the implementation of a comprehensive donor relations plan in accordance with the Development Office's strategic fundraising goals. The scope of work includes donor relations, recognition, stewardship, and related communication activities primarily geared towards major and principal gift donors. Core duties of the position include implementing major and principal gift stewardship and assisting with recognition society membership. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Donor Relations (Recognition).

Currently, the Development Office is working remotely.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in the implementation of an integrated donor relations plan to provide appropriate stewardship for all donors with an emphasis on major and principal gift donors.

* Display an awareness of existing process, learn new processes, and strive for innovation and excellence, helping to implement a sophisticated recognition program which sets the Brigham apart from peers.

* Assist Donor Relations colleagues and Gift Officers to execute agreed-upon deliverables as defined within the customized, multi-year stewardship plans for our top donors.

* Working with Donor Relations colleagues and Gift Officers, ensure appropriate and timely stewardship of all major gift donors of $100,000 and above. Utilize and assist in the creation of tools that make this process more effective and efficient.

* Maintain an accurate tracking of major giving society (The Brigham Luminary Society and the Brigham Catalyst Society) members in constituent relationship management database. Adhering to Donor Relations guiding principles, carry out stewardship deliverables.

* Assist in the production of honor roll donor lists. Work with Information Systems to ensure the database is accurate and up-to-date, secure approval of donor lists by Gift Officers, and assist Communications to develop non-list related content.

* Help maintain custom stewardship displays throughout campus and assist with the annual review and update of donor walls.

* In collaboration with Donor Relations colleagues, oversee the annual production of giving statements for key volunteer leaders.

* Provide assistance with gift agreements, stewardship events, stewardship reports, acknowledgments, special correspondence, and other projects as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 2-4 years of development or donor relations experience, and at least 1+ years project management experience.

* Strong commitment to customer service and quality standards.

* Ability to interact professionally with senior leaders and front-line staff.

* Experience with healthcare preferred.

* Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage confidential information with discretion.

* Proficiency in constituent management relationship databases and MS Office product suite.

* Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively under deadlines.

* Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills.

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

* Aptitude to elevate complex problems to team leaders and use judgment within defined practices and procedures, and a general understanding of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

* Ability to build professional and collaborative relationships that move initiatives forward.

* Exhibits good judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

* Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
