Position Summary / Career Interest:

Serves under the direction and supervision of the department manager, this position is responsible for the accurate general ledger activity for UKHS Great Bend, related reporting, reconciliations and assisting in the month end close of the financial statements. In addition, is responsible for analysis of revenue and expenses. Ensures compliance to company policies and procedures. Supports and adheres to The University of Kansas Hospital's Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  • Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.

  • Skillfully administers, directs and allocates all organizational resources.

  • Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to develop a unit/team-wide spirit and intra-team and inter-team cooperation.

  • Stays focused on all key stakeholders and supports the unit/team ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations.

  • Prepare assigned journal entries.

  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts with supporting schedules.

  • Assist with the Month End close process.

  • Assist with preparation of Monthly Board Meeting information as assigned.

  • Validates information from various sources to input into databases, both Financial and Volume Information.

  • Prepares and presents financial analysis on a regular basis to department managers and Finance Department leadership. This analysis covers Productivity reporting, Rural Clinic stats and Revenue and Expense variances and other variances and analysis assigned/needed by UKHS Great Bend.

  • Assist with the annual budget process and following up with department leaders in reviewing actual results vs. budget.

  • Cross train for duties assigned to the other positions in the Finance Department in order to fill in as needed.

  • Prepares other financial schedules, perform data analyses, coordinate report distribution and does miscellaneous projects as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration

Infection Control:
Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control.Training's could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
