Job Description:

Two Shifts Available: 

• Tues - Sat (3:00 am - 4:00 am start time) - 8 hour shift


• Sun, Mon, Thur - Sat 3:00 am - 4:00 am start time) with Tues and Wed off - 8 hour shift

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under direct supervision this position is responsible for the day-to-day clerical/administrative operations, such as receipt of samples, data entry and communication with customers regarding samples.  Works with other team members to ensure timely, quality, test results.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations.  Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
 
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
 
Assists with training, as required.
 
Resolves routine problems; recommends corrective action to management on non-routine issues.
 
Ensures that accurate records and documentation are maintained.
 
Accessions samples received for testing. Identifies unacceptable or missing samples, labels, or paperwork. Reports all discrepancies to management and assists with resolution.
 
Investigates and resolves all shipping, receipt and labeling exceptions and reports to management as appropriate.
 
Oversees inventory of supplies and reagents.
 
Maintains the cleanliness of equipment and work areas.  Assists with equipment maintenance.
 
Assists with management of data entry.
 
Participates in performance improvement teams and training programs, as required.
 
Packs and ships supplies and/or specimens.
 
Assists in processing bio-waste, specimens and micro-plates.
 
Drives the company vehicle to make deliveries and pickups.
 
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Knowledge/Education

 

High School graduate or GED required.  Bachelors of Science preferred or equivalent with lab coursework in Biology, Chemistry and Physics etc.

 

Licenses/ Certifications

 

Valid in-state driver’s license required.

 

Experience

 

Two years related experience required.

 

Skills/Abilities

 

Ability to key accurately and be detail oriented. 

Ability to organize and prioritize a variable work-load. 

Good analytical, problem solving and communications skills. 

Able to make sound decisions and work under pressure. 

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Must be able to demonstrate good computer input and retrieval skills.

Ability to work with multiple laboratory supervisory teams to provide 24 hour, 7-day coverage of the laboratory.

Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and bend.

Must possess a good driving record.
