Job Title:Supplier Quality Manager

Location: Conyers, GA

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Manager who will lead a team to simplify and standardize supplier quality management standards, processes and tools across Dover Food Retail to ensure suppliers are appropriately qualified, managed so they supply materials and services of consistent quality meeting DFR's needs.


The role will involve a high level of collaboration and influence with multiple teams across DFR, including Procurement, Sourcing, Design, and Operations, to manage supplier risk and monitor, correct, and prevent supplier performance issues. This role will also deliver the tools required to qualify new materials and suppliers to the DFR Supply Chain.

What you will be responsible for in this role:


  • Facilitate supplier audits and technical meetings to monitor and assess supplier performance, improve supplier communication, discuss existing or potential problems, review deficiencies, review analytical data, review improvement opportunities, identify new or improved technologies, and educate suppliers on DFR requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to a Supplier Qualification & Approval process including the development of supplier PPAP, collection and analysis of supporting data, and recommendations on long-term supplier viability.

  • Monitor the Supplier Nonconformance process and escalate issues that are not resolved in a timely manner. Drive the implementation of robust root cause investigations and corrective/preventative actions.

  • Leadership role for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues

  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain

  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities

  • Monitor ongoing supplier performance, maintain monthly metrics, and develop and execute supplier improvement plans

  • Drive supplier quality improvement programs

  • Participate in supplier development activities - evaluate and make recommendations on potential new suppliers

  • Actively act as a liaison between suppliers, sourcing team, and design teams to get alignment on requirements and qualification plans

What are the basic qualifications?


  • B.S. in engineering or other technical disciplines preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial, manufacturing, quality, or technical roles

To be a great fit for the role:


  • Experience in quality management systems, problem solving methodologies, and continuous improvement

  • Detail and results oriented with strong execution, organization, and communication (verbal and written) skills

  • Willingness to travel to visit suppliers and operation locations

  • Experience of developing close working relationships with other functional teams like Procurement and Research & Engineering is highly desirable.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams as required.

  • Self-starting and motivated employee.

  • Ability to remain task focused while assisting with daily activities.

  • Enjoys process improvement

  • Experienced in engineered to order components

  • Member of a recognized professional body such as the Chartered Quality Institute or American Society of Quality (ASQ) is an advantage.

  • Six Sigma Black belt or Green Belt trained and certified

  • Prior experience with Supplier Quality and Qualification

  • Strategic Sourcing experience is a plus.
