Job Description:

Velocity Transport is seeking Experienced Carrier Sales Representatives candidates who love developing strong relationships with carriers and growing accounts in a freight brokerage environment and are looking for a great place to call home.  

CARRIER SALES REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and manage your carrier database while expanding Velocity’s services


• Establish your brand amongst the customer sales team as a go-to carrier rep


• Reach and surpass the required load coverage and margin goals


• Utilize and display sharp negotiation skills to ensure Velocity provides the most cost-effective logistics solution while driving margin


• Meet all dispatching and check call requirements, providing best in class customer service


• Provide quotes promptly to the customer sales team with quality feedback

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to work well independently, occasionally with minimal supervision, and as part of a team


• Ability to consistently follow existing processes develops new processes, maintains required standards, and work with the team to improve them


• Exceptional customer service focus and skills


• Must have a drive to succeed, confidence, and superior verbal communication skills


• Organizational and scheduling skills


• Strong negotiation skills


• Willingness to make outbound phone calls until all of Velocity’s shipments are covered


• Bilingual; English and Spanish a plus 

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous freight brokerage experience required


• Previous produce experience strongly preferred 


• 6+ months of carrier sales experience preferred, but not required


• 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) experience and familiarity with TMS (Truck Management Systems) systems preferred, but not required

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Management or Marketing preferred, but not required.

Salary:

$61,500.00
