The Opportunity

The Professional Services Consultant is a technical specialist that implements connectivity with OpenText customers and their trading partners spanning a wide variety of industries like Financial/Insurance, Retail, Medical/Pharmaceutical, Automotive, and more. They are responsible for coordinating, configuring, and testing the implementation of new connectivity and changes to existing connections, utilizing a variety of transmission protocols and connectivity methods. Candidate will be responsible for planning, clarifying, and configuring system builds, coordinating connectivity testing and production deployments, troubleshooting issues, providing consulting and guidance on system and industry protocols, and coordinating with both internal and external resources to successfully complete their assigned projects on schedule.

Professional Services Consultants are specialized IT professionals that play an integral role in the success of managed services projects on behalf of OpenText clients. They collaborate with Management, customers, trading partners, and their peers work closely with customers and their trading partners to successfully complete onboardings and migrations.

The Consultant of Cloud Services will complete assigned project requests in accordance with our clients and their customers, as well as with OpenText defined policies and procedures. Onboarding responsibilities include


  • Clarify connectivity and routing requirements with end users and communicate technical specifications to relevant parties to accomplish actual configurations on the appropriate transmission platforms.

  • Lead and coordinate the testing of multiple implementations simultaneously using standardized processes and tools, as the driver of all involved parties towards successful project completion.

  • Research current client configurations within multiple OpenText information sources and confirm with end users directly prior to setup launch.

  • Coordinate various internal and external resources to complete implementations successfully including end users, Account Executives, IT, Operations, and Data Transmission resources.

  • Actively interface with OpenText SME's, as necessary, to clarify technical details and coordinate the setup of connectivity components.

  • Broker end-to-end integration testing.

  • Coordinate and execute client production go-live activities according to strict preset timelines.

  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date online log entries of on-going and completed project-related activities, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Respond to ad-hoc client and production support technical inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client and internally generated inquiries and guidance from requirements gathering thru implementation and production deployment.

  • Freely interact with and operate effectively and efficiently as a valued team member.

What it takes:


  • Hands-on experience with Communications Protocols (AS2, SFTP, HTTPs, FTPs),

  • Connectivity Methods (Internet, VPN, MQ, Direct Connect, SOAP and Rest API)

  • Security keys and encryption certificates

  • Strong experience in working directly with customers on technical implementations.

  • Quick learner. Comes up to speed as a functional team member in a short period of time.

  • Ability to logically trouble-shoot technical issues.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an overall team.

  • Fluent MSOffice Suite skills.

  • Capability to manage multiple simultaneous projects successfully.

  • Fast Internet connectivity.

  • Sensitivity to customers with varied levels of technical experience.

  • Ability to work effectively and directly with end users and their client sponsors.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1 - 3+ years' experience delivering implementation or related services

  • Understanding of EDI standards and value-added networks

  • Experience with EDI translation software and mapping tools

  • Strong client facing skills and proven ability to multi-task.

  • Previous experience with large-scale client connectivity-related implementations.

  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards.

  • Project Management experience a plus.
