ABI Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

This position requires the technician to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative/predictive maintenance in a safe manner on a wide variety of equipment and utility systems. Respond to alarms on critical systems and equipment in the areas. Improve equipment/system maintenance; developing predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

Position Responsibilities

• Make repairs on equipment utilizing strong electrical, mechanical and PLC skills.


• Competently operate and use diagnostic hand and power tools.


• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment and systems.


• Determine and order parts required for repairs.


• Participate in safety programs to meet program requirements and contribute to the growth of our site's safety culture.


• Equipment to be serviced includes, but is not limited to, bioreactors, fermenters, centrifuges, CIP systems, chromatograph skids, filter skids, bottle washers, purified water systems, pure steam systems, neutralization systems, liquid kill systems.


• Understand and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) when completing assigned work and paperwork such as work orders, SOPs, SAP (CMMS System) and equipment log books.


• Learn and comply with regulatory requirements such as APHIS, VMD & OSHA.


• Incumbent may be required to perform Hazardous Waste Pickup and understand and comply with hazardous waste training.


• Incumbent may be required to perform HAZWOPER clean up.


• Actively develop skills by completing training and job progression steps.


• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

• Qualifications include an Associate's Degree from an accredited technical/trade school in electronics, Electrical-Mechanical or other applicable field.


• Two years of maintenance/repair experience in a related field.


• Technical Skills and Competencies


• Previous calibration experience is highly preferred.


• Prior experience in regulated (FDA, USDA, etc.) or GMP-industry preferred.


• 2 years maintenance/repair experience required.

Physical Position Requirements

• Experience in the use of hand and power tools.


• Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.


• May be exposed to temperature variations, prolonged standing or walking.


• Must work in an industrial environment safely using approved procedures; i.e., Lockout/tagout, confined space, line break, right to know, PPE, etc.


• Valid drivers' license may be required.


• Immunizations required.

Hours: 1st Shift, 6:30am to 3:30pm, Mon-Fri (typical)
