SUMMARY:

If you are a Distribution Center leader looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our state-of-the-art 240,000 sq/ft distribution center in Olive Branch, MS, you'll be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the activities of our main distribution center. As the DC Director, you'll lead 11 employees directly and be responsible for a workforce of more than 120 employees across 2 work shifts. Achieving safety goals, meeting budgeted financial objectives, maintaining a high level of customer happiness, and leading our continuous improvement program are some of your key objectives as you lead a facility that fulfills more than $400 million of sales orders annually. You will also provide support to the Vice President of Sales Operations and Customer Care in all areas considered to be of significant strategic importance to the progress of the business.

 

AS THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER DIRECTOR, YOU WILL:


  • Develop and guide projects to improve Distribution Center safety, efficiency, and delivery performance
  • Provide mentorship and direction to the Distribution Center workforce
  • Build an effective management structure and develop a positive workplace climate
  • Delegate responsibilities to your team to accomplish assigned tasks while maintaining overall accountability for the performance of the Distribution Center
  • Communicate intent and empower managers and supervisors to act appropriately to ensure customer happiness and improve Distribution Center efficiency
  • Delineate responsibilities and expectations for individuals and the DC workforce as a whole
  • Hire, evaluate, develop, and discipline professional salaried employees and monitor the actions and performance of hourly employees as required through their immediate supervisors and managers

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles with growing levels of responsibility within a distribution center or warehouse
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle or other similar Enterprise Resource Planning and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Demonstrated ability coordinating solutions to unanticipated problems within various ERP and warehousing systems
  • Experience making and executing operational plans
  • Extensive skills in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% annually

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
