Server Administrator - Advisory

Overview

Provide installation and maintenance of server technologies and components for all environments including Azure cloud. Applysystem updates, patches and configuration changes. Monitor server environments and analyze logs, troubleshoot, track, resolve, document, and report progress and resolution of problems in the server environments. Provide support responding to outages and provide for backup, availability and disaster recovery of server environments. Support IT incident/problem management, change management, disaster recovery, security, asset management and release management processes.

Responsibilities

I. Install and maintain Virtual server components.

II. Troubleshoot, track, resolve, and report progress and resolution of problems in the VMWare cloud server environment.

III. Support the incident/problem management, change management, disaster recovery, security, IT asset management, and release management process.

IV. Maintain proof of concept, development, test, and production environments.

V. Protect IT/information/data content and property from theft, corruption, or unknown failure.

Essential Functions

1. Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with server systems.

2. Install new server technologies into existing data center environments.

3. Perform server backups and disaster recovery procedures.

4. Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.

5. Install and configure new hardware and software for the server.

6. Respond to service outages and other operations related problems.

7. Support server infrastructure availability.

Qualifications

1. Prior Experience:

3+ years' experience as a server administrator.
Related insurance industry experience preferred.
Azure Cloud automation experience strongly desired.

2. Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.

3. Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:* Knowledge of MS Office tools.
* Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM methodologies.
* Knowledge of SDLC and methodologies.
* Knowledge of VxRail and VMware
* Knowledge of insurance IT systems.
