Job Summary

Responsible for the verification of product characteristics and associated manufacturing documentation and other quality records, utilizing a range of inspection techniques and methods including, but not limited to visual, mechanicals, automated, contact and non-contact. This responsibility will be discharged under the authority delegated by quality.

Job Responsibilities

* Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed.

* Responsible for performing inspection processes as described by the product work instructions and/or other directions.

* Responsible for performing first article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions.

* Responsible for execution customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties. Responsible for maintaining those delegated authorities once granted.

* Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances

* Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers

* Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions

* 2+ years of experience in an Aerospace operating environment

* 1+ year of experience working with LEAN processes and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

* GKN Experience

* Apprenticeship, Associate's Degree in a technical subject or equivalent

* Awareness of AS9100 series requirements

* Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection process

* Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority

* Familiarity with 3D model based Engineering
