Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to become a key member of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Engineering team, providing software engineering expertise, while conducting research and development for artificial Intelligence and data science projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform software development on big-data solutions, ML, AI, and other projects in an Agile environment.


• Integrate hardware, software, and network components to facilitate delivery of data management and transformation capabilities.


• Contribute to the design of architecture, orchestration, software solutions.


• Assist with installation and maintenance of server software.


• Work in a collaborative, multi-discipline team contributing to projects spanning Big Data, ML/AI, Cloud Architectures and Orchestration, Cyber, and Systems and Software Engineering.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Science or Engineering plus five (5) or more years' practical experience with ETL processes, or a Master of Science degree plus four (4) or more years' experience in a technical environment is required.


• 8-12+ years' experience


• Security+ certified


• Linux+ certified

Required Skills:

• Experience developing within a Linux environment.


• Experience developing in multiple programming languages (e.g. Python, C#).


• Shell Scripting


• Experience with container orchestration platforms (e.g. OpenShift. Kubernetes).


• Experience developing containers (e.g. docker podman, singularity).


• Experience with CI/CD and related configuration management and tools

Desired Skills:

• Experience developing within a Windows environment.


• Full stack development


• Experience using ML


• Experience with DevSecOps.


• Experience with Agile and Test-driven design methodologies
