Job Description:

What we'll do together:

As the Project Engineer, you will
support the goals of the Florence Manufacturing plant pertaining to
equipment specification, acquisition and installation, workflow, and the
productivity improvement process, while furthering our commitment to safety and
quality at L'Oreal.

What your day will look like:


  • Identify,
    select, create a project scope, identify a budget, create a timeline, cost
    justify, purchase, install, upgrade, modify and improve capital equipment
    used in all areas of the plant on time and on budget.

  • Supervise
    the activities of sub-contractors, suppliers, and service personnel.

  • Track
    financial performance in SAP, create purchase orders, receive shipments,
    process invoices, and control spending on projects.

  • Analyze,
    recommend, and implement activities that will maximize productivity and
    reduce costs within the manufacturing processes.

  • Independently
    investigate opportunities to improve the efficiency and productivity of
    the packaging,processing, flows, and plant utilities operations.

  • Provide
    concepts and methods for in house development of equipment which conforms
    to safety requirements and productivity goals.

  • Design
    the layout of packaging operations to maximize efficient material flow.

  • Provide
    support, guidance, and assistance to technical and production personnel.

What you'll need:


  • Bachelor's
    degree in major engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 1-2
    years of experience in a project engineering role in like industry
    including experience gained while in a co-op function.

  • Good
    communication skills.

  • Attention
    to detail, ability to follow detailed procedures.

  • Ability
    to multi-task/prioritize

Judgment and Decision Making:

Decisions made by the Project Engineer can directly impact Safety,
Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and Morale. They must make these decisions
with only intermittent involvement from Supervision based on the knowledge
gained from their trainings.


  • Safety:
    Fully supports an independent safety culture and works proactively to
    accomplish the safety mission in the plant of Zero Accidents.

  • Quality:
    Supports and embraces the quality mission of the plant.

  • Delivery:
    The ability of the senior project engineer to meet the production demands
    ensures that our customers receive our products on time.

  • Cost:
    Operation of the project engineer activities according to the standards
    ensure that cost to produce is aligned with the financials.

  • Environment:
    Supports and embraces the environmental mission of the plant.

  • Morale:
    Must be an actively engaged employee exhibiting a positive attitude and a
    focus on teamwork to achieve best in class results.

Essential Physical Requirements:


  • Occasional
    lifting up to 40lbs.

  • Occasional
    long periods of standing.

  • Occasional
    long periods at desk.

  • Continuous
    movement throughout the plant

Financial Scope:

Annual Revenue Responsibility: Varies with project scope.
Amounts up to and over $10 million are possible.
