Senior Producer

Overall purpose: A senior digital producer is needed in the Experience Design Studio (XDS) to work in close collaboration with all levels (staff level to executive level leadership) of product management and engineering to help prioritize product features, close gaps in business requirements and manage relationships between business partners. The senior digital producer is a strong leader that communicates effectively and can help negotiate timelines and understand business impact of those negotiations to drive product delivery. The senior digital producer plays a key role in the decision-making process during planning sessions, ultimately driving efficiencies in the delivery process.

Responsibilities

• Conscientious Liaison: One of the lead representatives for the design organization in communicating product feature prioritization to the team, business commitments that affect product roadmap and roadblocks that may put product releases at risks. Ongoing collaboration and communication with Engineering, Product, Executives and Customer Care to identify gaps in product requirement
• Process Management: Support team member efforts to move design and development forward as well as anticipate and eliminate obstacles.  Make sure the team is working as efficiently as possible to maximize productivity and work quality. Using tools such as Jira, Jira Align, Slack and Notion to communicate the design team’s commitments and blockers to other external partners
• Resource Planning: Work alongside design leads to forecast team workloads to establish balance across the team and identify resource issues early.

• Schedule Planning:Work with interdepartmental project/product managers and engineering to determine milestones with a keen focus on making sure appropriate time is allotted for the efforts of our team. Ability to identify and manage interdependencies with XDS and other departments
  • Participate in Program Increment planning within the SAFe format; leading sprint planning for XDS
• Department Advocate: represent XDS in interdepartmental meetings and be an advocate for the team’s vision, voice and reasoning, whether on their own or alongside team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing resources and schedules as well as working as a liaison across different teams in software development for set top boxes, web, mobile, consumer electronics or similar products.  If not set top box, it is a plus if experience is related to video entertainment.
• Experience working in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), leading sprint planning and participating in program increment planning
• Software proficiency
  • Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Jira, JiraAlign, Notion or other schedule & resource management applications

AT&T and TPG signed an agreement to form a new entity, DIRECTV, which will own and operate AT&T’s U.S. video unit consisting of DIRECTV (consumer and business satellite services), AT&T TV and U-verse TV (excluding U-verse network assets).
