The Strategic Heavy Maintenance Planner forecasts, plans, and schedules Heavy Maintenance events to maintain FAA regulatory compliance and the integrity of the flying schedule. The Planner ensures no overfly activity of maintenance tasks while balancing the needs of the JetBlue organization and the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul business partner contracts.
Essential Responsibilities
Construct and maintain the Heavy Maintenance (HMV) Schedule
Forecast future HMV resource requirements
Build, publish, and maintain HMV work packages
Assist in the capture, trend, and analysis of HMV yield, manpower, ground time, and non-routine workload to mitigate delays on the HMV lines.
Evaluate check workload, make recommendations for schedule optimization and workload efficiency
Interface with Engineering, Technical Support, and other JetBlue customers to quote additional check workload with MROs and align with HMV schedule, promoting efficiency
Interface with Line Maintenance Planning group for scheduling efficiency
Coordinate Pre-Induction review meetings with Maintenance Planning, Material Operations, Quality Control, Engineering, and MRO providers

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Three (3) years of combined relevant work experience in any one of the following:
Aircraft Maintenance Planning, a position requiring an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate and/or in an aviation-related Engineering discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aircraft Maintenance Programs/Maintenance Program Documents (AMP/MPD), Airworthy Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)
Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent to travel in and out of the United States
Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, or related technical field
Valid Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
Ten (10) years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning or in a position requiring an Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate in a Part 121 Air Carrier or MRO environment
Proficiency in TRAX
Project Management experience particularly dealing with aircraft modifications, efficiency studies and cost deliverable projects

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
