About The Position

The Training Supervisor, Substation and Relay Training, is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, coordinating and administrating high quality training for substation and relay field and supervisory personnel. They will ensure that training materials accurately and completely cover the systems and processes used by the trainees for the different subjects trained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Will primarily focus on systems and process training needs for substation and relay field and supervisory personnel.

  • Plan, develop, deliver, coordinate and administer substation and relay related training programs that adequately cover the knowledge for substation and relay field and supervisory personnel.

  • Provide high quality training to non-substation/relay personnel as needed.

  • Provide ongoing support for existing training material as well as the development of new training material where it does not already exist.

  • Serve on internal committees and projects outside of the IL Training and Development Group to support the needs of AIC.

  • Periodically perform field visits to job shadow substation and relay field and supervisory personnel to stay current with work practices and procedures related to systems being trained throughout AIC.

  • Coordinate with substation and relay field supervisors and superintendents to ensure that training needs are being timely addressed.

  • Assist substation and relay field supervisors with job shadowing previous trainees that are having difficulty applying what they were trained.

  • Will be required to travel to locations in IL to perform training. Has the potential to be asked to assist with training for non-substation and relay subjects.

Qualifications

Associates Degree in a technical discipline required, or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Three years relevant work experience required (e.g, substation/relay construction, operations and maintenance, designing and/or delivering training on related Ameren systems). Seven years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Consideration will be given to substation/relay field supervisor or contract personnel (e.g. Journeyman, Foreman) with three or more years of relevant Substation/Relay Design, Maintenance, or Operations experience with no degree required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
