Job Description:

Develops and implements internal communications that enhance the flow of information across the organization, thus aligning and engaging our employees around the company’s vision. Serves as the “company journalist” to keep employees informed on a variety of topics, including department spotlights, financial results, operations updates, personnel announcements and events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develops and implements internal communications plans targeted at ensuring internal alignment among employees with corporate vision and messages.

  • Develops and coordinates content for a variety of internal media, including intranet, videos, meetings and events in support of employee engagement. Originates story ideas, themes and approaches; researches material; interviews subject matter experts to obtain necessary information.

  • Plans quarterly employee update meetings including coordination of dates and times, development and coordination of collection of material, development of material, internal management review of presentation materials and logistics (including webcast/videoconferencing, survey, attendance, recording and dissemination of materials as appropriate).

  • Writes and edits content for the company's intranet, keeping the site up to date always.

  • Develops and implements new innovative means to communicate with all employees and contractors, such as social media, an executive management chat / webcast, etc.

  • Develops and coordinates the company's editorial calendar of announcements, news stories and events.

  • Liaises with other departments and the leadership team as it relates to internal communications.

  • Assists in the development of communication materials such as speech writing, talking points and presentations as it relates to special events and meetings; provides planning and support for special events and meetings as needed.

  • Implements material review process and secures necessary approvals prior to distribution.

REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's Degree in English, communications, journalism or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications.

  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to maintain composure and exhibit professionalism while contending with tense situations. 

  • Ability to efficiently coordinate multiple efforts, tasks and/or projects concurrently. 

  • Attention to detail and focus on quality delivery. 

  • Possesses sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.

  • Ability to take strategic direction and execute with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to exhibit professional behavior and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs and proficiency or willingness to learn online content management systems and intranet programs

  • Ability to professionally and effectively manage and prioritize time while handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
