Junior Loan Servicing Specialist, Consumer Loan Operations

Duties

As the Junior Loan Servicing Specialist at Lakeland Bank you will prepare clerical tasks within the Loan Operations department, such as: general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, creating new files, scanning documentation, data entry, answer telephones, special projects, and check back loans/leases. Issue payoff letters. Input new loan accounts in core system. Daily USPS mail deliveries include a significant amount of insurance policies related to loans on file.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and compare all insurance policies to the core system to determine what needs to be retained, scanned and coded on the account.
• Follow up with insurance companies to receive current property insurance and flood insurance policies, update core system with current insurance information


• Force place hazard and flood insurance when necessary


• Refund/Cancel insurance hazard and flood insurance


• Answer telephones and assist customers, branches and department with loan inquiries


• Issue Pay Off Letters when requested.


• Prepare and send original Mortgage documents to be cancelled of record.


• Prepare and send original mortgages to be recorded to perfect our lien.


• Respond to loan inquiries via email.


• Assist with movement of loan files and other scanning jobs to Document Management area.


• Data entry.


• Secondary loan input review


• Prepare documents that require scanning.


• Scanning documents.


• Sort all incoming USPS and internal mail by the Loan Department units.


• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Skills Required:

• High school diploma


• 1 year of experience in banking or mortgage loan servicing/operations experience


• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word


• Exceptional phone etiquette.


• Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customer in a professional friendly manner.


• Excellent written and verbal communication


• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.


• Must be bondable.

Scheduled Hours

Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. 40 hours weekly. Overtime as needed
