Haskell is seeking a Design Associate I - Civil to join our team in Jacksonville, FL!
The Design Associate I - Civil will have entry-level responsibility, as a design professional, for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications in his/her discipline for assigned projects. The Design Associate emerges as an independent resource and begins to coordinate work with other disciplines and works to fulfill experience requirements for eligibility to take the professional license exam.
Job Responsibilities:
Application of Knowledge of Civil Engineering Applications (Conceptual Design)
Participates in project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents.
Researches and is responsible for discipline design compliance with proposal/client criteria.
Design
Analysis Ability
Prepares design for hydrology, hydraulics, site utilities, and erosion sediment control design approach.
Detailing
Ability to read and understand design documents.
Construction Documents
Ability to read and understand specifications.
Coordinates work with other disciplines.
Construction Support
Subject to final approval of Licensed Professional, check shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents.
Assist Licensed Professional in construction observation to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings, and observations. Prepares field reports.
Assist Licensed Professional with final project punch list observation and coordinates satisfactory response for substantial completion of civil site work elements.
Project Management
Partners with technical efforts of discipline Interns, designers, technicians assigned to the project.
Profitability, Planning, and Scheduling
Manage personal productivity to maintain a profitable margin while executing the basic services.
Meet civil design schedule to align with target dates for deliverables.
Professional Development
Identify continuing education opportunities to expand professional growth and advance the collective ability of the discipline.
Leadership
Champion compliance to corporate standards and best practices.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree with internships in a civil engineering design experience preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications, Etc.:
Autodesk Civil 3D (current version)
ICPR experience preferred
