Join us as a Senior Product Owner for our WhatsUp Gold product group, working in our Alpharetta, GA or Bedford, MA location.Due to our COVID 19 shut down, this role will start remote but then transition into the office when they reopen in the future (date is TBD).

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Product Owner serves as the customer proxy to the Agile software development team. Working as part of the Product Management Team, they translate product vision and strategy into a well-defined and prioritized backlog of user stories, where each story captures the specific 'job to be done' and the problem a user persona has in achieving completion of that job. It also quantifies the business value and specific acceptance criteria associated with this user story. Product Owners work with the team to help understand the use cases and secure real customer validation leading to successful products that customers love and adopt fast. Ultimately this role is responsible for driving the maximum value produced by each of the Agile teams they work with while leveraging the principles of the Agile Manifesto.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

• Lead multiple scrum teams and/or product areas. Use best practices to align product delivery with business vision, strategy and product roadmap.

• Work with team(s) to prepare for Release or Program Increment (PI) Planning. Lead backlog refinement effort to break product features (epics) into user stories.


• Own the accuracy and currency of your team's backlog, including alignment with PM. Ensure user stories conform to the definition of Ready, so that their descriptions are written in canonical form, Acceptance Criteria are present, etc. Maintain the status of feature/epic throughout the planning and implementation phases (Program Increment).


• Ensure teams' work is supported appropriately with customer validation. Bring the voice of the customer to your team(s), ensuring that scope of the requested work is well defined and understood by everyone on the team. Recommend topics and questions for customer surveys/polls and Market Research.

• Be able to explain essential product capabilities and deployment architecture. Be able to demonstrate parts of the product worked by your scrum team(s).

• Manage product backlog execution risks. Identify productivity issues and recommend solutions and best practices for Product Owners working on the same product. Collaborate with Engineering leadership on continuous improvement of product development process.


• Collect focused customer data through interviews, researching Technical Support cases, online polls, etc. and present to Product Management to backup proposed changes/additions to the roadmap.


• Recommend acceptance of feature/epic completion to Product Management, including complex cases were only partial completion is achieved by the end of the Program Increment.


• Anticipate changes to supported third-party products' lifecycle for the area of managed competence, update the product backlog to ensure timely currency.


• Collaborate and assist Information Development and Technical Support with development and improvement of customer enabling content. Assist Field Enablement and Product Marketing with go to market material.


• Be able to present a vision and a roadmap for the area of the product he/she works on. Contribute to online user communities, including Customer Validation Program. Deliver advanced sessions at customer facing events. May co-present with a third-party speaker. Assist with workshops.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE NEED SOMEONE WHO HAS:

• Good knowledge of IT monitoring, network management and enterprise software development


• Experience in an Agile Software Development environment or related


• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience


• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager. Pragmatic Marketing training is a plus
