"Abi" is our big-data and AI capability housed on Impella Connect, a first-of-its kind cloud-based technology that allows clinicians and Abiomed support to remotely view intuitive summary dashboards and live video stream of case information transmitted from the Automated Impella Controller.

If that's you, Abiomed has an immediate opportunity for a Product Owner to join the Impella Connect team to help build something completely new for this top-performing medical device company. This is an exciting opportunity to impact development initiatives that will shape future product development and industry standards. The Product Owner is a member of the agile team responsible for leading story definition and prioritizing team backlog to streamline releases while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the product.

Key Responsibilities

• Help execute the vision and strategy for Impella Connect and cloud-based services at Abiomed.


• Lead team in writing epics and stories for shared understanding and execution


• Work with the architects and technical members of the team to ensure that product vision and technical execution are in harmony


• Maintain internal and external stakeholder analysis and inventory


• Internalize and deeply understand complex technical problems and how they impact our stakeholder


• Work with stakeholders to distill large initiatives into a deliverable roadmap


• Engage with stakeholders to capture requirements


• Curate the product backlog to produce highest business value


• Lead sprint planning and is extremely available to the scrum team


• Responsible for streamlining execution of team priorities while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the releases


• Understand when to make tradeoffs between planned work and the unexpected interrupt-driven work


• Play a critical role in sprint demos by utilizing it as a feedback loop for validation of intended impact


• Point person to ensure all deliverables are prioritized, including software, documentation, quality and regulatory.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology discipline or equivalent experience


• Experience in healthcare / medical device industry with regulatory controls


• Autonomous self-starter able to provide direction in a sea of ambiguity


• Ability to empathize with stakeholders and users


• Passion for working in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment; Self-motivated, organized


• A knack for finding the best way to solve problems when constraints exist


• Effective and patient communicator that can translate technical and non-technical issues to various team members


• Ability to provide and effectively adapt to constructive feedback


• Desire to grow as an individual through continuously learning new techniques and technologies


• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary


• Limited travel might be required
  
  

A Strong Candidate Will Also Have:

• Experience as a Product Owner / Business Analyst


• Experience working with Agile development with a Continuous Discovery/Delivery mindset


• Experience delivering SaaS


• Understanding of web & mobile application architecture


• Experience working directly with software engineers


• Experience with requirements analysis and elicitation
