Job Description:

The Principal Engineer reports to the Director and is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting
products that are currently used in NexTier and customer services. The Principal Engineer will work with external/internal multi-disciplinary engineering teams, Operations, and Sales personnel to understand the product
requirements and then either lead a team or work within a team to develop a product that meets the requirements. The Principal Engineer will develop and oversee testing programs to verify product performance. The Principal Engineer will work with Manufacturing to assure the product is manufacturable and cost
effective. The Principal Engineer may manage projects and supervise the engineers, designers and technicians that make up the project team. This position requires a Bachelor's degree.





























































Serve as the technical
leader for engineering projects and possess the ability to manage several
simultaneous initiatives/projects/team members within time/budget
constraints.





Systems level engineering
experience with a focus on hardware design including digital/analog hardware
design, power system design, and system communication.





Management of external
design resources, when appropriate.





Design, implement, maintain,
qualify, and improve instruments, equipment, facilities, components,
products, and systems for usage.





Confer with engineers and
other NexTier personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system
malfunctions, and provide technical information.





Perform detailed engineering
calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, fabrication, test, and
installation per specifications.





Assist designers/technicians
in the development of products, using computer-assisted design/drafting
equipment and software.





Direct and coordinate
manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support,
documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with
specifications, codes, and customer requirements.





Plan and implement research
methodology and procedures to apply principles of engineer theory to
engineering projects.





Prepare and study technical
drawings, specifications of systems to ensure that functionality and
operations conform and surpass standards and customer requirements.





Compile data and write
reports regarding existing and potential components and systems.





Perform personnel functions,
such as supervision of production workers, technicians, and other junior
engineers, and design of evaluation programs.





Participate in and lead team
efforts to continually improve the product development process.





Performs related work as
required.

Salary:

$115,000.00
