These machines will perform a variety of turning, facing, boring, base milling and drilling on various products manufactured at this location.

All parts will have data sheet available, which will call out all variables of the program, durable tooling required, turning and boring tools to be used. Responsible for maintaining quality through adherence to specified programs procedures and requirements.

Setups will include changing jaws, basic tool holders, boring tools, milling tools, gauging system and adjusting or changing loading system. Input variables into the control as required to meet specific tolerances or dimensions.

Exercise extreme care in verifying programs to prevent major damage to the machine or tooling.

Obtain inspection approval of parts and proceed with production, making offset and insert changes as required to maintain quality and production standards. Perform other setup operator duties within department during times when CNC groups require no direct attention. Assure that all gauges are setup prior to running and stamp all parts with hand stamp.

Detect and report defective material and any problems with the machine. Maintain quality checks throughout operation to assure all parts are to quality standard.

Observe good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.

Plan ahead on materials needs, setups, etc., to minimize downtime and strive to meet or exceed production goals.

Document all problems on hourly piece count sheet and maintain all required paperwork in an accurate manner.

Perform other duties as directed by supervision.HS Diploma or GED Equivalent plus 6-8 months of related manufacturing/CNC experience.
