Overview

Our Dixon, CA location has an opportunity for an Assistant Parts Manager to join our growing Parts department. The Assistant Parts Manager assists the Parts Manager with the management of the Parts Department to defined objectives and targets. This position oversees day-to-day operations and ensures optimal efficiency, productivity, and ultimately, customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for creating a collaborative, team-oriented environment and ensures all policies and procedures are followed and properly executed.

All work is performed in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and in accordance with department processes.

Responsibilities

    Assist Parts Manager with training, coaching, and developing of staff. Serve as role model to employees and embody TEC values of teamwork, entrepreneurship, and customer focus. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

  • Manage employee priorities and activities on day-to-day basis to ensure alignment with desired business results.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and continuously look for ways to optimize and streamline processes, embracing change where needed to stay ahead.

  • Build and grow customer relationships and loyalty by establishing mutually agreeable expectations up front and delivering on to those expectations with timely and high-quality work. Handle escalated customer issues appropriately.

  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with internal business partners (sales, service, etc.) to maximize financial performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Model proactive, safe work practices, continuously seeking to find and correct safety hazards. Reinforce a culture of safety with team at all times.

  • Utilize an objectives scorecard to manage department outcomes relative to short and long term department goals.

  • Actively review financial statements to measure progress against department financial goals; monitor and manage department expenses appropriately.

  • Review hourly Parts employee timecards on a weekly basis at minimum. Ensure employees are properly taking meal and rest breaks and accurately recording their time. Make corrections to timecards in timekeeping system as needed, with appropriate employee Missed Punch Log backup.

Qualifications


  • Successful experience in Parts leadership role within heavy equipment industry

  • Strong knowledge of parts and warehouse operations

  • Sound business acumen with ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions

  • Excellent people management and leadership skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external partners

  • Proficient with computers; ability to utilize all required systems and software

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills

  • Ability to exercise composure and sound judgment at all times

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems

  • Understanding of process improvement concepts and tools (LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
