Banquet/Housekeeping House Attendant at Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Job Description:

This hybrid position would ensure that function rooms are set according to guest expectations and Sonesta Standards. The candidate will set up, tear down, and clean all space associated with banquets and conventions. In addition, the candidate would work in the Housekeeping Department and ensure that assigned housekeeping areas are kept clean and fully stocked 24 hours a day and to service assigned public areas and employee areas as needed. Key Job FunctionsClean function rooms prior to set-up. Responsible for set-up and break down of tables and equipment in the meeting rooms according to BEOs and guests' requests. Provide required amenities, as dictated by Banquet Department Standards. Refresh meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks. Complete special projects as directed by department management. Move convention material boxes, programs, etc. from hotel receiving docks, registration areas, guest rooms or suites. Care for the equipment. Accommodate special customer needs, hanging banners for meetings and food/beverage functions. Service every function according to Sonesta Service Standards. Responsible to learn about the VIPs in each function and their special needs. Clean and stocks linen room/supply closets to appropriate par level. Take care of Room Attendants at all times attending their needs. Empty linens and garbage on an hourly basis or as needed. Keep corridors on guest room floors clean and well maintained, helping move tables and trays. Clean vending machine area. Move furniture and supply boxes as needed. Complete guest requests. Vacuum carpet on a daily basis. Clean walls, doors, baseboards and floors on a daily basis. Clean all furniture, lamps, picture frames and mirrors are clean on a daily basis. Report any burnt light bulbs in lighting fixtures as needed. Clean garbage receptacles on a daily basis. Hand in any articles (lost and found) to a Supervisor or turn in to housekeeping office. Deliver any guest request items (bedspread, iron and board, etc.). Recycle at every opportunity (newspaper, glass bottles, etc.). Perform any special duties as assigned by management.
